FAQ

Q: Which authors do you admire and what makes their work special to you?
A: John Grisham for his interesting story-weaving…David Baldacci for his ability to write effectively about different subjects in his novels…Robert Ludlum for his ability to write intricate plots.
Q: Do you have a list of favorite films?
A: I of course thoroughly enjoy the movie adaptations of Robert Ludlum’s Jason Bourne series. I must admit I’m a sucker for a good romantic comedy from time to time. A recent one I really enjoyed was Dan in Real Life with Steve Carell. I’ve also received inspiration from the Ian Fleming’s James Bond series.
Q: What type of music do you like to listen to?
A: Most of my favorite music would fall into the Classic Rock arena. I do like some more recent groups, such as Porcupine Tree, Dredg, Train, Coldplay, Dirty Vegas, Leaves, the Doves. I’ve been known to listen to music that ranges from Burt Bacharach to Led Zeppelin and everything in between.
Q: What are you currently writing?
A: I have a couple of novels I’m currently writing. One that is nearly completed involves a rogue CIA agent that is caught up in an international plot that takes him from Seattle to Thailand.
The second novel is about young parents coping with the tragic loss of their eight-year-old son. I have several other ideas for novels in the hopper.
Q: Tell us a little more about yourself. The inspiration for your writing, your first job, and any other fun details.
A: I don’t know how other authors find their inspiration, but I find that if I go for walks then sit down at my laptop, the inspiration to write seems to flow from my fingertips. It may sound funny, but sometimes I don’t know exactly what’s going to happen to the characters in my book, until I start writing. The story begins to weave itself as I write.
I read once that Sidney Sheldon would sit down and dictate the equivalent of 50-typed pages at a time. He would have his personal assistant type them up and he would spend the next day editing the pages. Then start the process all over again. I’ve been known to write 5 to 10 pages in one sitting, but I need to take more frequent breaks.
My first job was my own landscaping business at the ripe age of 13. Of course that was before they called it landscaping. I mowed yards during the summer months for people. I also worked on a Jersey dairy farm, and in a food cannery where they canned all types of beans and corn. I spent countless hours happily working alongside my grandfather pulling rods and tubing on oil wells. Dirty work…but the company was great!
Q: When will your next novel be available?
A: Probably within the next few months. Everything is still being firmed up.
